A very Merry Christmas to you all and a huge thank you to all who came yesterday. Just seeing all the children have so much fun TOGETHER was amazing, and not one meltdown in sight, huge pat on the back to everyone. Thanks to the girls for making this happen, and huge thanks to ... the butchers for supplying the yummy food, the girls at the club for opening up and helping us out, Kriztina and Ger for the music, you all for coming along and bringing food, the kids themselves for being such superstars, and of course my wonderful Husband ( AKA Master chef ) for his continued support and belief in my abilities !
Have a super Christmas and see you all in the New Year x Aine
New changes
At the last meeting it was agreed to change the format of out group, it has become increasingly difficult for people to attend monthly meetings and we have had a lot of calls from people who are interested in support but can't attend. Therefore we have changed to a Support Network. The main of this will be run from a new Facebook page here : Kilkenny-ASD-Families-Network
If you want any advice or just a chat simply visit the page and feel free to post, all posts are moderated to protect from spam.

Hot Topics
So after last nights discussions I think we have two/three things we'd like to tackle.
1. looking more in depth at the idea of some kind of questionnaire we can use to prove how much our children depend on us ( so get your thinking caps on for next meeting ! )
2. A day trip for the kids to either the Reptile village or loving the idea of the treasure hunt in castlecomer, so we need to cost coaches and discuss some fundraising
3. the x-box / ps3 challenge for those too old for a day outand of course something for the lil ones too.
look forward to hearing your ideas !!

Next Meeting
A representative from the The Irish Society for Autism will be joining us on Tuesday night just to touch base and to discuss how we can move forward and interact with other societies, this Lady has successfully ran a support group herself for many years and so will be a very welcomed guest !
Also on the Agenda is the x-mas Party on Sunday !
The intention from feedback of members is simply to provide the space ( and food !! ) for the children to get the feel of a party without all the fuss and noise !
The Girls are opening the club especially for us and we will have use of the nice warm and carpeted main room as well as the kitchen, so please come along and make yourselves at home.
